Abreast in A Boat We are a team of breast cancer survivors paddling to demonstrate that we and other breast cancer survivors can lead full and active lives. The first dragon boat of breast cancer survivors was formed in Vancouver in 1996. This number has now grown to at least 125 such crews paddling worldwide.
Dragon Hearts Magnum

A competitive, mixed team, practicing Sunday mornings and Tues/Thursday evenings. Cost $70+festival/race fees. 2010 races: Dash for Charity. Alcan + regatta, Whistler Nationals, Harrison, Kelowna, Victoria, San Fransisco.

Dragon Ladies The Dragon Ladies, a competitive women's team, are recruiting for 2009. Previous dragon boat experience unnecessary. However, we're looking for athleticism, willingness to work hard, and a desire to party harder (but not the night before a race, right coach?!). Seriously, if you're looking for a great team with fantastic camaraderie, you've found it. Practices begin mid-February. The Eh Team The Eh Team is a senior (50+) Dragon Boat Racing Team. We are a mixed team that was formed in 2000. We practice on Wednesday and Friday mornings between 9:00 and 11:00, rain or shine. We enter regattas throughout the season, which starts in March and ends in October. We have won numerous medals over the years including a gold medal in the C-Consolation round in San Fransisco in September 2009. We were awarded the Governor General's award for Community Service in 2009. Our motto: "We paddle for fun, but race to win." False Creek Grandragons For over ten years the FC Grandragons have set the standard for senior dragon boating. We currently number about 60 paddlers which allows us to enter two teams in major competitions. Although our minimum age is 50, we currently have only two paddlers under 60 with an average age of 67. We practice twice a week on Monday and Thursday mornings at 10:15am.

RGL United RGL United is a semi-comp mixed team that works hard every practice and has a great time doing it. We're a very social team; in fact, you just can't keep some of our team members away from each other! During the 2009 season we held four clubbing and one volleyball event, which raised over $4500 to help pay for fees, races and coaching. Practices are at FCRCC on Wednesdays (7-8:45pm) and Saturdays (9:45-noon).
Saggin' Dragons  Women's recreational team in its sixth season. We practice twice a week, Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. Last year we had an exceptional year finishing 2nd in the Women's Comp. B division in Nanaimo, 5th in the Women's Platinum A division in Kelowna, and qualifying for the Women's Guts and Glory race at Alcan.
Scotiabank Dragons  Co-ed, semi-competitive team, who practices twice a week (Mon/Thurs nights), is looking to recruit paddlers with >2yr experience.  Must have a passion for dragonboating, competitive spirit, & willingness to win.  Must make the twice/wk practices.  We are a fun & friendly group committed to train & work hard in making each season a successful one.  Last year we finished 6th in the Comp B final at the Rio Tinto Alcan Festival and 5th in the Platinum division of the Kelowna Dragon Boat Festival.  Goal is to improve from the season past and having fun doing so!  If interested contact us at holdtheboat@gmail.com.
Starbucks Waverunners The Waverunners have been paddling since 2000. This coed team from Vancouver consists of a diverse team of paddlers working towards a common goal of inclusion, cohesion, advancement, competition and fun. We have enjoyed paddling competitively at festivals in Portland, Kent, Victoria, Kelowna, Vernon, Hawaii and San Fransisco. We are proud to be sponsored by Starbucks Coffee Company since 2003.
The Strength Within  Young cancer survivors.  We plan to start practicing late March or April, depending on the weather.  Our practice times will be Tues (6pm) and Sat (noon).
TCC Dragoneers

We are a high Rec A mixed team that paddles once a week on Tuesday nights from March to September. We charge our paddlers a basic fee of $200 that includes coaching, rental of practice boats, membership into the Trinidad Chinese Club and a team racing shirt. The cost of the festivals are extra.
This year we will participate in the Deep Cove Festival (April 24), the Whistler Festival (July 2-4) and either the Penticton or Kelowna Festival in September.
This will be TCC's 16th year paddling on False Creek and we are looking forward to paddling at FCRCC. We are a fun, hardworking team with a positive attitude, respect for our fellow paddler, coaching staff and all the people we have the pleasure of meeting throughout our season. Our integrity is important to us as a team, keeping our commitments.
Our team motto is: Sprite of Endevour, Good Sportsmanship and Having Fun at All Costs.
