Our New OC1

The prototype of FCRCC's new custom OC1 made a brief visit, over the last weekend of November, to our Granville Island base.

It's now back at the factory for further development, improving some features, and so on.  The good news is that, in the testing done that weekend, all new components were found to work as planned.

It is a lighter version of our standard Surfrigger, but with an over-stern rudder, kayak type steering and seat parts, and a modified cockpit rim which will make V1 paddling a bit nicer.

While progress on this project has been slower than we'd all hoped, still, it's nice to see that we ARE getting closer to being able to paddle in new boats!

Patience please, everyone ...

We hope to have the prototype (which is a heavy lay-up) available after Christmas, and at least three of the standard, lighter, lay-up for Spring training.  The contract is still being negotiated, however.

Here's a photo (thanks to Hector Y for the camera work), to whet your appetite.

Stay tuned!
