Overview

Founded 25 years ago in the Fall of 1985, False Creek Racing Canoe Club (FCRCC), is a non-profit, multi-disciplinary paddling club, featuring training & racing programs in the paddle sports of dragon boat, outrigger canoe and flatwater kayak/canoe.  With the assistance of two part-time staff, the club is run entirely by member volunteers.

FCRCC Constitution

The mission of the club is to offer paddling opportunities to anyone who wishes to achieve excellence through training and racing.  Please note that we do not rent or loan boats to the general public for casual paddling (see Web Links section for organizations that do); our boats are for use only by our members and team & training/racing programs.

We operate out of two locations:

  • Alder Bay & the False Creek Community Centre on Granville Island (see map) is home port for our Dragon Boat fleet & programs, most of our solo outrigger (OC1) fleet & courses, and our flatwater (Kayak, Canoe, SurfSki) fleet & programs.  There, we are able to take advantage of the change rooms, showers, sauna and fitness facility in the FCCC.  A small amout of storage for members' small boats is there, too.  As well, the club office is in the FCCC.
  • The Burrard Civic Marina (see map), where we keep our fleet of multi-person outriggers (OC2, OC4 & OC6), is home port for all the "team" outrigger programs.  There is also a large amount of storage for members' small boats.
