Women's Teams for the Canadian National Dragon Boat Championships

When: Thursday January 14 2010, 7:00 - 8:00 PM

Where: Granville Island Room, False Creek Community Centre

Hello everyone!

As discussed at the Dragon Boat meeting before Christmas, the False Creek Racing Canoe Club is encouraging everyone to participate in the 2010 Canadian Nationals at Whistler (July 3rd & 4th). We are hoping to enter at least one (if not more) FCRCC team in every Women's age category - which (according to IDBF & DBC rules) are:

• Junior:   must be 17 or younger on January 1, 2011 [16 or younger in 2010]
• 18-23:   must be at least 18 & under 23 on January 1, 2011 [17-22 in 2010]
• Senior:  Steersperson and all paddlers must be 40 or older on June 1, 2011 [39+ in 2010]
• Senior B (Grand Dragon):   Steersperson and all paddlers must be 50 or older on June 1, 2011 [49+ in 2010]
• Great Grand Dragon:          Steersperson and all paddlers must be 60+ on June 1, 2011 [59+ in 2010]

Races will be 200 metres, 500 metres and 2 Km.

The FCRCC Executive supports the women having a free practice slot once a week (day & time TBD), so that all women can practice together.

We are inviting interested women - all women who are DB Members or Full Members of the Club - and their Coaches to attend this meeting.

But ... because we are allowed only limited numbers in the meeting rooms at the FCCC, we are asking that each team please send no more than 2 or 3 representatives (who will relay information to all women on their teams) to this meeting.
