FCRCC Spring Knockout
Last team standing wins!
Introducing a new format for local dragon boat racing: the Knockout.
Teams will race two 200 metre heats to qualify into one of several similar-times "Knockout Divisions", and then a 200 metre semi-final to determine placement & ranking in a Knockout Division. Each Division's final will be a Knockout series of 200 metre races. All teams will be in the first final race; the bottom team(s) in that first final race will be knocked out. The survivors will have 5 minutes to return to the start line - and then race again. The Knockouts will continue until there is only one team left standing (or more likely, slumped over & gasping for air ...)!
All teams will race in open divisions and are guaranteed at least FOUR races. Teams can enter additional crews for Men's and Women's Knockout (no qualifying heats, limited to 8 crews each).
The FCRCC Spring Knockout is a recognized Dragon Boat Canada Qualifying Event for crews seeking entry to the next CCWC.
